From starting small as a home-baker to winning Padma Shri: Why Rajni Bector is an inspiration for all womenpreneur

Rajni Bector, Founder and Chairman of Mrs Bectors Food Specialities LTD was honoured with the coveted Padma Shri award on Monday by President Ram Nath Kovind for her significant contribution to the promotion and sustainable growth of trade and industry.

Her story is the perfect example of passion and not success. She started Cremica as a home-based business in 1978 that grew into a whole lot of industry in itself. Always focused on innovation, Bector became one of the first condiment makers who created veg Mayo for McDonald’s way back in their earlier days in India. And, is today one of the largest suppliers for buns to quick servicerestaurants not just in India but across globe.

After receiving the award, Bector also interacted with the President and Prime Minister.

“I feel blessed and express my gratitude to the government for recognizing my achievements,” she said.

President, Kovind also acknowledged the dedication of Bector for enriching communities and empowering womanhood in many forms.

Modi, meanwhile, expressed a desire to experience the taste of Rajni Bector’s recipes after which she invited him to Ludhiana and requested further impetus to the food industry.

Bector was named for this prestigious award in the trade and industry field.

Rajni Bector’s some of the top endeavours included the establishment of a modern bread plant which was followed by a world class biscuit plant sooner.

Started as a home-maker, Bector soon rose to fame as an ice-cream breaking all stereotypes. As per few of her previous interview, she named her company CREMICA from 'Cream Ka' as she used to make cream products.
