Savour true taste of freedom with Restaurants

Eating out in India is no more an occasion driven activity; it has become an occasion in itself. And to fill this gap, restaurants and hotels in the country are spreading colours of patriotism in its menu by arranging a special lunch and dinner buffet and giving special offers on stay packages.

What is being offered?

Restaurants like The Ancient Barbeque, Tawak, The Hiatus, Radison Blu New Delhi and Taj Falaknuma Hyderabad are showering some exciting deals this Republic Day.  As Republic Day is no longer about attending the flag-hosting ceremony at the nearby place or venue, eating sweets and languishing for rest of the day before the television set are the new trends in Indian culture.

"Since, it is a national holiday, most people will be home watching the parade and will later step out for a meal. We have kept a special Monday brunch for those who would like to have a long, laid- back meal with their friends or family. By having such initiatives, a restaurant is able to attract customers and give them some new to look forward to,” says Deepankar Arora- Partner, Tawak.

At the same time, major hotel chains like Taj Hotels and Royal Orchid Groups are offering exciting weekend packages to celebrate this Republic Day.

Royal Orchid Brindavan Garden is offering an exclusive holiday package this Republic day at just Rs 19,999 plus taxes for a couple.  These packages include a visit to a complimentary foot massage at MAYA spa and special Republic day brunch with kids buffet.

On the other hand, Radison Blu New Delhi is offering a special Tri colour dishes this year.

“This Republic day Radisson Blu Paschim Vihar unites the nation with people through its enticing offer of Tri-Coloured dishes such as Tri colour starters, coloured Pizza & Pasta, Pulao with Raita along with Tri coloured mocktails and many more,” shares Kishore Kumar Bhagat , F&B Manager Radisson Blu.

Ramada Powai Hotel and Convention Centre pledges to celebrate this republic day by offering 26 per cent discount at skky, Café Ambrosia, Uno Bar.

Target customers

The restaurants are not targeting a particular target group for this auspicious day as everybody is invited to celebrate the spirit of being free and patriotic. The guests are both families and individuals- young and old, especially those who enjoy eating out and want to experiment with different cuisines, believes experts.

“All the people who could not make it to the parade ground can enjoy their Patriotic gastronomy journey at Radisson Blu Paschim Vihar, adds Bhagat.

Promotional tool

As the world is moving onto digital platform, restaurant industry is not lagging behind in placing them right at the digital platforms. And to promote their brunch the restaurant fraternity is using their social media platforms and newspaper inserts.

“We will also be following up with our database through an emailer, adds Arora.
