With launch of its virtual restaurants in Kolkata, Rebel Foods enters eastern India

Rebel Foods, the world’s largest cloud kitchen brand, has launched its virtual restaurants in Kolkata. With this expansion, the Mumbai-based chain has ventured into eastern India.

Presently, the virtual kitchen giant has three stores in the city at Ballygunge, Chinar Park and Behala. Besides these three, the work is underway to open seven more outlets in Kolkata. Rebel Foods is planning to have a total of 10 outlets in Kolkata by December end. 

Founded by Kallol Banerjee and Jaydeep Barman, the brand has also forayed into the international market with the opening of a store in Dubai.

The Rebel Foods portfolio comprises of 11 brands, including Faasos, Behrouz Biryani, Sweet Truth, Firangi Bake, The Good Bowl and Lunch Box.

 Kallol Banerjee, Co-Founder of Rebel Foods, said, “Gastronomy comes naturally to Bengalis. It is therefore not a taste acquired, but science understood. Our progress across the globe, even as we grow our footprint in Kolkata, is a testament to that.” 

“Kolkata is one of the cities where the Rebel Group brands had the fastest acceptance. We are delivering at least 100 orders a day. Rebel Foods has been witnessing 100% growth for three consecutive years. In 2017-18, the company clocked Rs 200 crore and in 2018-2019, it’s Rs  400 crore,” he added.

Currently, Rebel Foods has over 1,500 virtual restaurants across 18 cities, delivering more than 50,000 orders in a day.
