How did you start your journey with the food industry?
Through my travels over the years, I’ve come across and fallen in love with so many different cuisines and flavors that it was inevitable for me to get involved with the food industry. And the timing to open Raise The Bar at this point in time just felt right.
What inspired you to start a concept like this?
I feel there was a need to give Gurgaon a place that had a rustic charm and was not only inviting but also exciting in more ways than one. At Raise The Bar, we’ve put in a lot of thought to not only get the ambience right, but also the food and the amazing cocktails which tell a story about places and times they’ve been inspired by.
What is the unique element which makes Raise the Bar stand out?
Definitely the cocktails, which not only taste great but they also look incredible. The other thing is the 360 degree view of the entire city that literally makes you feel like you’re on the top of the world.
What’s the story behind the name?
With Raise The Bar, we wanted to raise the bar, not just for ourselves but also our patrons and give them a place that is unique and extraordinary.
What are some of experiences that you’re creating at Raise the Bar?
At Raise The Bar, the lighting is mellow, cocktails are decadent and the bar menu takes its patrons on a Cocktail Journey across the world. Whether it’s America in the 1920s, the Amazon Rainforest, Gardens of England or the mystic and majestic Himalayas, the cocktails take inspiration from every location and its people to offer you a chance to relive their stories through a profound sensory experience. There’s also a separate champagne bar with an extensive cigar menu.
How do you see the customers’response?
It’s been phenomenal. To quote a recent online review, “I went here with some friends after work recently and the vibe is chill, cocktails are amazing (I tried The House of Immortals, which is perfect for the winter with a hint of cinnamon and chamomile tea) and the view is stunning! Thank you for such a great evening.”
What’s your take on innovations in this segment?
I feel there’s so much scope to expand and push our boundaries to offer our patrons flavors that are unlike any other. And also add finer nuances to the entire experience in order to make their time at Raise The Bar more memorable and wonderful.
How do you think the food and beverage trend in India has changed over the past few years?
Today, people are a lot more open to trying out new cuisines and flavors. I feel it’s also got to do with their exposure through their travels, making them more open to newer experiences.
What are your marketing strategies?
We’ve been getting a lot of influencers organically, including the best food bloggers in the country, to write about their experiences at Raise The Bar. And of course, social media is a big part of our marketing strategy apart from inviting food critics to our bar.
What do you recommend trying the most at Raise the Bar?
My personal favorite is a drink called Octopus’s Garden (named after a song by The Beatles). It has bourbon, pear puree, eucalyptus honey, lime juice and egg white, and is a delicious and flavorful drink.
What are your expansion plans?
We’re planning to expand our reach in the food and beverage industry by working on a few new projects.
What are your upcoming projects?
There are a few projects in the pipeline but they’re still at a planning stage. But we’re definitely looking at expanding our reach in the food and beverage industry.
