Harajuku, known for its creative menus and Japanese-inspired offerings, has expanded its footprint with a new Bakehouse in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. Covering approximately 800 square feet, the outlet introduces the brand’s signature desserts, baked goods, and beverages to one of the city’s most vibrant residential neighborhoods. This expansion is part of Harajuku’s aggressive growth plan, with 15 new outlets launched this year and a roadmap to open 90 more over the next three years.
The Punjabi Bagh Bakehouse features a menu that balances Japanese street-food favourites with artisanal bakery items. Dessert options include Mochi Pancakes, Japanese Cotton Cheesecake, Rainbow Slice, Castella Teacakes, Matcha Tiramisu, Biscoff Cheesecake, Sakura Yuzu Basque Cheesecake, and Nutella Dorayaki. Savoury offerings range from Yakisoba Buns, Curry Pan, Croque Monsieur, Korean Chicken Pepperoni Pizza, Harajuku Hot Dogs, Chicken Floss Buns, Miso Chicken Puffs, and various baos, poke bowls, and gyozas. Complementing the food menu, the drinks selection offers bubble tea, artisanal coffee, ceremonial matcha blends, Hōjicha lattes, and signature coolers such as Tokyo Blue and Lychee Lemongrass Ginger.
Gaurav Kanwar, Founder, Harajuku, said, “Punjabi Bagh represents a microcosm of Delhi’s dining culture; energetic, diverse, and always willing to experiment. For us, it is a strategic step to move beyond malls and central hubs into neighborhoods with strong community engagement and high repeat dining potential. With the Bakehouse format, we can operate with sharper efficiency while maintaining the same quality our customers associate with Harajuku. Punjabi Bagh gives us access to the audience of west Delhi who would come to Saket and Vasant Vihar to dine with us. As a location it has a thriving café culture that values both indulgence and convenience. By expanding into such markets, we are building a model that is scalable, sustainable, and tuned to India’s evolving appetite for Japanese-inspired experiences.”
The Bakehouse model is designed to serve dine-in, takeaway, and delivery customers. Its compact layout, lower capital requirement, and focused menu make it suitable for high-street locations and community markets. Orders are also available through platforms like Swiggy and Zomato, ensuring Harajuku’s offerings reach customers throughout the city.
This expansion signals Harajuku’s intent to move beyond traditional dining hubs and adapt to emerging urban dining patterns. By tapping into neighborhood markets with a scalable format, the brand is positioning itself to cater to consumers seeking quality, convenience, and distinctive flavours, while keeping its long-term growth objectives in sight.
