Bakshi to continue restaurant biz
Vikram Bakshi, estranged partner of McDonald's India who partnered with the US burger chain in 1995 to operate its outlet in north and east India says he intends to stay in the restaurant business even without continuing with Mc Donald’s.
Speaking to media, Bakshi, said, “I am staying in the business. I don't intend to throw away 18 years of my leanings in this business.”
Bakshi has also proposed to buy stake in Burger King, the world's third-largest burger chain which is planning to open its outlet in India soon in a joint venture with private equity firm Everstone. The venture headed by Rajeev Varman, who was heading the burger chain's UK operations earlier is now looking for franchisees to set up outlets.
