McDonald’s is committing $5 million to the consortium, bringing the total to $10 million, coming along with the $5 million Starbucks had already committed.
It made $3.24 billion in China/Asia Pacific revenue in the past financial year while operating income was $764.8 million, according to the report calculation. A breakdown for China alone was not immediately available.
Starbucks debuted its first Roastery in its hometown of Seattle in December 2014, spending a reported USD20 million on that 15,000-square-foot facility.
