Companies are going replace sugar by using natural sweetener stevia

Food and Beverage Company PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are going to play a big gamble by changing of its best selling products. Stevia which is plant best natural sweetener are ready to come in market instead of sugar. Coca- cola also going to launch a new variant of mango flavoured maza with less sugar.

Talking about public concern over high sugar drinks, PepsiCo too is going to change the test of their drinks like 7Up will have less calorie while coke is going to change the same with Fanta by decreasing sugar and calorie. Many companies are experimenting with stavia instead of sugar to hold the market strongly as people preferring less sugar and less calorie drinks in place of conventional Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

Coca-Cola India Spokesperson said “As articulated by our global CEO, Coca-Cola has undertaken a three-pronged strategy to give consumers wider choice of low no calorie products, which include reduced serving size, reformulation and innovation. This is work in progress and we intend to share a comprehensive play by the end of 2017”.

Coca-Cola found hard to hold the market because of its product, containing high sugar. Many celebrity refused to advertise its product by saying it’s harmful for people’s health. While 7UP and Fanta will be the first reformulated products to be launched in India, PepsiCo's hydrotonic brand 7UP Revive is the only drink created in its original form with stevia as an ingredient

Ajay Chandran, Senior director, South Asia at PureCirle a B2B stevia supplier said “We have been growing in India in double-digits, globally, around 14,000 products have been launched with stevia and many companies in India are experimenting with it currently.
