KFC to reopen its UK outlets

Global major KFC has announced that they are reopening another wave of stores in the UK.

According to the fast food chain they were busy behind the scenes detailing how they can responsibly reopen its restaurants across the UK and Ireland.

"We know there’s still a need for food that’s accessible and affordable (and delicious, if we do say so ourselves). We want to help frontline workers and those isolated at home who can’t get to the supermarkets easily – with our doors shut, we can’t play our part. That’s why we’ve taken the careful decision to reopen a small number of our UK restaurants with a limited menu for delivery only,” read the statement.

The coronavirus lockdown led to the company closing all of its stores nationwide on March 23.

Despite restaurants still being allowed to deliver takeaways, KFC said it would shut to "protect the wellbeing and safety" of its staff and customers.

However, the chain's branches in Stockport, Hulme and Deansgate, in Manchester, re-opened two weeks ago offering a limited menu prepared by a skeleton staff for delivery only.
