The Lalit New Delhi, an iconic hotel located in the heart of the Capital, Connaught Place, announced the opening of the Group’s signature Pan-Asian restaurant - OKO.

An Ecosystem of Equality and Inclusion

With pure love on the mind, OKO is the first restaurant in India to introduce an all-inclusive workforce of women, and transgenders.

OKO empowers specially-abled artists too. Kitty Su’s star performer DJ Amish plays at the restaurant on select nights. Designed to intrigue the food connoisseur, OKO dices up whole new exotic flavours from Japan, China, Thailand, Korea, and Vietnam.

The Menu

The menu at OKO is created by Chef Suriya and other expat chefs from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Japan. The restaurant presents a region-wise a la carte menu presented in courses and is open for guests during lunch and dinner.

Keeping true to The Lalit’s philosophy of ‘we serve what we grow,’ indigenous ingredients have been sourced at the OKO kitchen. Chef Tamang, with an experience of over two decades in crafting Pan-Asian delicacies, heads OKO as its Chef de Cuisine.

A Hint of Old Infused With a Dash of New

Take a trip down memory lane with The Noble House’s 20-year old dish, ‘five nobles,’ coming back to life. Located on the 28th floor, OKO gives different views to the city’s skyline. The large windows on all corners are poised to enthral with far stretching views of the city, including the restrooms!

A 360-degree digital virtual tour of Delhi and its iconic destinations will add to an engaging dining experience.

According to Keshav Suri, Executive Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, “OKO is that premium destination where new ideas can brim during lengthy conversations over great wine, exotic sushi, and other amazing pan-Asian choices. It stands apart from others primarily for being the only all-inclusive fine-dine restaurant offering international choices, inspiring décor, and The Lalit’s signature hospitality.”

Restaurant India Food Review

Namaskar! Starting with the signature greeting style at The Lalit, OKO’s all-women service staff was as humble. OKO, meaning welcome in Japanese, is the authentic pan-Asian destination. Currently, the outlets of OKO are located at The Lalit Bengaluru, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Goa and Udaipur.  I visited The OKO Delhi, which had recently launched. The restaurant has a cosy and warm ambience. As mentioned above, OKO is located on the 28th floor of The Lalit New Delhi making it among one of the highest located restaurants in India. The guests can enjoy the food with a view. Even from the washrooms!

OKO Delhi has a private dining area for guests too.

“Cooking is an art, but fine dining is about an experience. OKO will be one of the largest Pan-Asian menus in the city with live Sushi, Teppanyaki, Robata counters, and a carefully crafted list of ‘Sushiri’ – sushi and wine pairings.”

Heading to the food – I had Crunchy Yasai Sushi Roll, Kappa Maki, Old School Gyoza Chicken, Wafu Salad, stir-fried rice and Tub Tim Krob (dessert). The fried roll of mango, mint and cream cheese make Crunchy Yasai Sushi Roll stand out from the other sushi rolls. For Kappa Maki, I must say the chef has kept the cuisine as authentic; it has cucumber and mayo. The quantity of one Tub Tim Krob seems almost for two; watch out when you order the dessert. The subtle taste of this Thai delicacy will satiate your taste buds. Tub Tim Krob is made with tender coconut cream and water chestnuts.

Another speciality of OKO is it has a separate washroom for specially-abled people.
