Chowman, a well-known restaurant in Kolkata that sets trends in the culinary eating industry, has finally made its debut in Mumbai. Established in 2010, the brand has established a cloud kitchen in the Powai neighborhood and will soon be followed by several dining establishments throughout the city.
Chowman, a pioneer of authentic pan-Asian cuisine and a democratic approach to fine dining, is looking to Mumbai as a major turning point in its mission to provide world-class dining experiences at affordable prices. Under the direction of Debaditya Chaudhury, Managing Director of Chowman, Oudh 1590, and Chapter 2, the brand's idea was born, and it expanded from a single store in Kolkata to the most popular cities across India.
With more than 45 locations in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, and Kolkata, it has greatly expanded in recent years. Chowman’s aim is to further blend traditional fine dining with reasonable prices, offering traditional Indo-Chinese dishes from Kolkata's (the Indo-Chinese birthplace) traditional roots alongside true Asian cuisine.
"The dream of coming to Mumbai has been there all along. Mumbai is a city that thrives in diversity, located within that eclectic cultural rainbow nestles the undying love for authentic, quality food that perfectly syncs with Chowman's core values. We are here to give Mumbaikars our signature neighborhood fine dining experience, a place where authenticity, quality, and value coalesce into one that would best fit into the city's gleaming gauntlet of high-end Asian restaurants," said Debaditya Chaudhury, Managing Director, Chowman.
In order to cater to the city's cosmopolitan diners, Chowman's Mumbai location strives to translate the brand's philosophy into the culinary experience. From its elaborately designed interior, which blends traditional Asian elements with modern influences, to its varied menu that celebrates Eastern flavors, the entire scene is painted on a palette.
