Yum! Brands announce their two-brand headquarters in the United States, in Irvine, California, and Plano, Texas, to encourage better brand-employee collaboration.
The KFC and Pizza Hut global headquarters in Plano, Texas, will house the corporate office staff of KFC U.S., which is currently located in Louisville, Kentucky. Remote workers based in the United States will also be requested to move to the campus where they work.
Corporate headquarters for Yum! Brands and the KFC Foundation will remain in Louisville. Irvine, California will continue to be home to Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill's headquarters.
“These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees and shareholders. Ultimately, bringing more of our people together on a consistent basis will maximize our unrivaled culture and talent as a competitive advantage. I’m confident this is another important step in growing our iconic restaurant brands globally,” said David Gibbs, Yum! Brands Chief Executive Officer.
Over the next six months, about 100 KFC corporate positions in the United States will be relocated, and over the next eighteen months, 90 remote positions will be relocated. Employees will receive transition and relocation assistance along the process.
In honor of its long history in Kentucky, Yum! is reaffirming its dedication to promoting higher education in the state by donating $1 million to the University of Louisville's College of Business. This gift will be used to support the Yum! Center for Global Franchise Excellence and fund Yum! sponsored scholarships for students across Kentucky. With the goal of constructing a first-of-its-kind flagship restaurant, KFC will also maintain its brand presence in Louisville.
