Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center, in collaboration with Amrut Distillery, has announced the launch of a single malt whisky developed exclusively for Zarf, the hotel’s Indian fine-dining restaurant. The release marks Amrut’s 50th single malt and represents the first instance of a single malt whisky being created solely for a restaurant in India.
The collaboration brings together two established Indian hospitality and beverage brands with a shared focus on craftsmanship and contemporary positioning. The initiative aligns with Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield’s approach of using its food and beverage outlets as platforms for experience-driven partnerships that extend beyond standard menu offerings.
The bespoke whisky has been distilled using Indian six-row barley and matured for more than six years in a refill virgin American oak cask. The expression has been developed to align with Zarf’s culinary direction, which draws from regional Indian flavours and traditional recipes while presenting them in a modern dining format.
“At Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield, our F&B destinations are designed to lead conversations” said Sanjay Gupta, Multi Property General Manager, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center. “This collaboration with Amrut, a respected Indian family run brand reflects our strategic focus on innovation through one-of-a-kind partnerships where cuisine, craft, and culture come together to create experiences that are truly distinctive and destination-defining. Zarf continues to evolve as a space where Indian heritage is expressed in a modern, globally relevant way.”
The whisky was introduced alongside a curated food pairing at Zarf, with dishes designed to reflect the depth and structure of the single malt. The menu included Mushroom ki Galouti with Lucknow potli spices and saffron warqi, Peshawari Namak Mandi lamb chops, lamb galouti kebab finished with saffron warqi, and Dal-e-Zarf, prepared using yellow moong lentils and desi ghee and slow-cooked in stoneware.
Rakshit N. Jagdale, Managing Director, Amrut Distillery, said, “Releasing our 50th single malt in collaboration with Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield and Zarf marks a truly meaningful milestone for us. I am especially pleased that for our first private label in India, we have partnered with an esteemed institution like Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield, for their bespoke restaurant, Zarf.”
The launch event also incorporated a fashion presentation curated by Prasad Bidapa, featuring designs by Hemant Trevedi inspired by the tones and movement of the whisky. The addition provided a visual layer to the evening while maintaining the focus on product craftsmanship and curated experiences.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend in luxury hospitality toward private-label spirits and restaurant-exclusive products as a means of differentiation. Through this partnership, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield strengthens its positioning as a culinary-led destination, while Amrut Distillery extends its private-label portfolio, reinforcing its role within India’s premium single malt segment.
