IHG to expand in Kolkata

The InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) plans to launch three hotels in the next three years in West Bengal. The development will see Kolkata based real-estate company Jain Group to invest Rs 300 crore in the three star properties in Kolkata, Durgapur and Siliguri.

Commenting on the development, Rishi Jain, Executive Director, Jain Group said that all three hotels will be managed by the IHG and sport the Holiday Inn brand. “We have tied up with IHG for the five-star category hotels in all three locations. The Holiday Inns will be the first five star hotels in Durgapur and Siliguri," Jain said.

The three star properties mark the Jain Group's entry into the hospitality vertical. The hotels in Siliguri and Durgapur will be accompanied by nearly one million sq ft each of residential development. And though the hotel in Rajarhat will be a standalone one, it already has nearly two million sq ft of development.
