Selva Opens at World St. Aerocity, Bringing Mexican-Nikkei Cuisine to Delhi

Selva has opened at World St., Worldmark, Aerocity, marking its entry into Delhi and adding a contemporary Mexican dining concept to the hospitality and F&B mix at the destination. The restaurant is the third venture from first-generation restaurateur Sarthak Sidana, who is also the founder of Underdoggs and Sere, with his concepts having been developed across ten cities over the past decade.

The restaurant’s menu draws from regional Mexican cuisine and Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei influences, following more than a year of culinary research across Mexico and Asia. Its offering includes Tlayuda, Nori Tacos, ceviches, tiraditos, house-made tortillas, and robata-fired seafood and meats.

Selva also includes Selva Maya, an after-dark cocktail space inspired by Mesoamerican mythology. Its beverage programme has been developed by the team behind Goa’s Hideaway Cocktail Bar.

“Selva’s arrival is a strong reflection of World St.‘s growing stature as India’s most sought-after culinary destination. We have always envisioned World St. as a space that brings the world’s most distinctive dining experiences to Delhi. As World St. continues to welcome celebrated brands, we remain committed to making this promenade a true benchmark for experiential dining in the country,” said S. K. Sayal, MD & CEO, Bharti Real Estate.

“Selva is a culmination of our deep rooted love & years spent travelling, researching and understanding cuisines & cultures across Mexico, Peru, Japan and beyond. We wanted to challenge the way Mexican & Nikkei cuisine is understood in India. This wasn’t about recreating what we had experienced elsewhere, but about understanding the cuisine at its roots and finding our own expression of it, one where the food, cocktails, design and hospitality come together to create an experience that feels both rooted and unexpected.” said Sarthak Sidana, Founder, Selva.

Selva joins an expanding restaurant portfolio at World St., which includes Olive Garden’s first India outlet, PF Chang’s, Magnolia Bakery, Starbucks Reserve and Paul. Time Out Market is also set to make its India debut at the destination.

World St. spans nearly half a kilometre across 4, 5 and 6 Worldmark, combining restaurants, cafés, bars, retail and outdoor public spaces. Its positioning within Aerocity gives the destination access to business travellers, local residents and visitors, while the growing F&B portfolio increases its role as a dining and leisure destination in Delhi-NCR.
