Restaurant India News: Bang Bang! Noodle Expands to Bandra with New Sichuan-Inspired Menu

Bang Bang! Noodle has expanded its footprint with the launch of a new outlet in Bandra. Founded by Chef Rahul Punjabi, the concept has built its identity around Ma La and Sichuan cuisine, with the latest opening introducing a larger format and an expanded menu inspired by the chef’s culinary research across China’s Sichuan province.

The Bandra outlet marks the brand’s second chapter and reflects lessons learned since its initial launch. According to the company, the menu has been shaped by Chef Rahul Punjabi’s visits to Chengdu, Chongqing, and Leshan, where he explored regional cooking techniques and traditional noodle and dumpling preparations.

Among the new additions is La Zi Ji, a Sichuan-style chicken dish prepared with bone-in chicken, chillies, and Sichuan peppercorns. Other menu highlights include Tian Shui Mian, a noodle dish featuring soy caramel and sesame powder; hand-shaped Cat’s Ear Noodles; and Chao Shou Dumplings prepared using a custom-built machine designed specifically for the Bandra outlet.

A key ingredient across the menu is the Crying Tiger Sichuan peppercorn, sourced directly from China. The restaurant also uses noodle flour imported from Italy, selected for its milling consistency and organic certification standards.

Rahul Punjabi, Chef and Founder, said, "We are so excited to finally bring Bang Bang! Noodle to Bandra. This outlet represents everything we have learned and everything we love about Sichuan food, and we cannot wait for our patrons to experience it."

The new outlet has been designed by Sonu Punjabi, former interior designer and mother of Chef Rahul Punjabi. The restaurant features Asian-inspired interiors, including a Zen garden, a four-foot meditating Buddha, lantern installations, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows aimed at creating a spacious dining environment.

The Bandra location also introduces the return of the brand’s Wall of Fame initiative, first launched at its Goregaon outlet. The programme recognises repeat guests through Polaroid photographs displayed within the restaurant, reinforcing the brand’s focus on customer engagement and loyalty.

With the opening of the Bandra outlet, Bang Bang! Noodle is strengthening its presence in Mumbai’s competitive dining market while continuing to focus on regional Sichuan cuisine and specialised noodle-based offerings.
