Restaurant India News: Accor Appoints Mahi Teja as General Manager of ibis Coimbatore City Centre

ibis, Accor’s economy hospitality brand, has appointed Mahi Teja as General Manager of ibis Coimbatore City Centre, reinforcing its focus on leadership development and operational growth across its India portfolio.

Bringing close to 14 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Teja steps into the role after building a career across sales, commercial functions, hotel operations, and revenue management with brands including Accor and Hyatt Hotels. His professional journey began in sales and expanded into operational leadership roles across multiple Accor properties, giving him experience across both business development and hotel management functions.

In his new position, Teja will oversee the strategic and operational performance of ibis Coimbatore City Centre, with responsibilities spanning guest experience, team development, operational efficiency, and business growth initiatives.

Tejus Jose, Director of Operations, ibis and ibis Styles India, said, "Mahi's journey within Accor is a reflection of his commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and collaborative leadership. Over the years, he has successfully navigated both commercial and operational roles, building a deep understanding of what drives hotel performance and guest satisfaction. His ability to develop strong teams while delivering consistent business results makes him exceptionally well-positioned to lead ibis Coimbatore City Centre into its next phase of growth."

Teja has also completed several leadership development programmes through Accor Academy, including the International Emerging Leaders Programme (IELP) in 2020, the General Leadership Programme (GLP) in 2023, and the MEA APAC Master's Programme, General Manager in Making in 2025.

Before assuming his new role, he served as Hotel Operations Manager at ibis Bengaluru Hosur Road, where he played a key role in strengthening operational performance, guest satisfaction, revenue outcomes, and talent development.

Mahi Teja said, "I am honoured to take on this opportunity with ibis Coimbatore City Centre at a time when the city continues to grow as an important business and travel destination. ibis has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable and value-driven hospitality, and I look forward to working alongside the team to build on that foundation. My focus will be on creating memorable guest experiences, fostering a culture of collaboration, and ensuring operational excellence across every aspect of the hotel."

The appointment comes as ibis continues to expand its footprint across India, with leadership development remaining a key component of the brand’s growth strategy. Industry observers view the move as part of Accor’s broader effort to strengthen operational capabilities and drive long-term growth across emerging business and travel markets in the country.
