L’Opéra has launched Le Café, a new dining extension inside Le Marché at The Chanakya, New Delhi. This marks a strategic move by the French bakery brand to strengthen its footprint in the premium hospitality space by introducing a sit-down café format within an upscale retail setting.
Designed to integrate into the flow of daily retail and dining activity, Le Café operates as a flexible venue—catering to both dine-in patrons and takeaway customers. The new outlet carries forward the brand’s French culinary identity while broadening its menu offerings and service style.
While retaining the signature aesthetic associated with L’Opéra, Le Café introduces a more extensive menu that spans breakfast items, French soups, pasta, salads, pizzas, and plated desserts. All dishes are prepared fresh at the location. The patisserie section features long-standing bestsellers such as the Opera and St. Honoré, as well as new additions like the Truffle and Hazelnut Éclair, the Red Daisy with raspberry accents, and the Suisse Pistachio viennoiserie.
The menu also includes a variety of artisanal breads—from traditional baguettes and whole grain loaves to milk breads, gluten-free options, and fougasse. These baked goods, alongside fresh pasta and select patisserie items, are also available for retail purchase at Le Marché, positioning the café as an integrated retail-hospitality offering.
From a business standpoint, Le Café enhances L’Opéra’s presence in the capital by introducing a mid-scale format that blends bakery retail with full-service dining. The initiative adds versatility to the brand’s portfolio while aligning with consumer demand for hybrid dining spaces in high-footfall luxury retail environments.
The menu incorporates vegetarian, protein-rich, and gluten-free options. A focus on fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients reflects current dining trends and consumer expectations around wellness and sustainability.
Laurent Samandari, Founder and Managing Director of L’Opéra said, “With Le Café, we wanted to create a space where every detail—from the aroma of fresh bread to the last spoon of risotto—reminds you of the quiet pleasures of French living. It’s our way of bringing a little Paris to your daily life.”
Le Café is now open daily at Le Marché, The Chanakya, and adds a differentiated dining layer to L’Opéra’s India operations through a setting that merges French cuisine with modern urban sensibilities.
