Burgertory, a premium burger chain from Australia, is set to enter the Indian hospitality market in collaboration with Franchise India through its international business arm, FranGlobal. This strategic partnership marks the start of Burgertory’s plan to establish 100 outlets across India over the next five years.
Burgertory, known for its focus on quality, has built a reputation for offering a distinct burger experience with made-to-order meals that use fresh ingredients and house-made sauces. With its expansion into India, the brand will introduce signature items from its Australian menu while also creating new offerings tailored to local tastes.
Tarun Sachdeva, Global Strategy Officer at Burgertory said, “Nearly 18 years ago, I left India with a vision to transform the food scene back home. After a great journey with Burgertory in Australia, I’m excited to bring bold and unique burgers to India. This is not just a business expansion—it’s about introducing a new food experience that everyone in India can enjoy.”
Burgertory’s growth in India will be led by Franchise India, under the leadership of Gaurav Marya. As an experienced player in global franchise development, FranGlobal’s expertise aligns with Burgertory’s ambitions for the Indian market.
Hash Tayeh, Founder and CEO of Burgertory said, “We are excited to partner with Franchise India for this venture. India is a dynamic market, and we believe our unique burger flavors will connect with Indian consumers.”
Gaurav Marya, Founder and Chairman of Franchise India said, “India’s appetite for global flavors is growing, and Burgertory’s innovative approach is a great fit for the market. We are confident that together we will build a brand that resonates with Indian consumers.”
As part of its localized strategy, Burgertory will offer a mix of its classic Australian menu and new creations designed for the Indian market. Items such as the Tandoori Chicken Burger, Paneer Tikka Burger, and Spicy Masala Lamb Burger will be introduced alongside the brand’s established favorites. This approach reflects Burgertory’s aim to integrate local flavors while maintaining global standards.
The brand's expansion plan will roll out through a master franchise agreement, with the first outlets expected to open in key cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Each location will adhere to Burgertory’s global operational standards, ensuring consistent quality across all franchises. Burgertory also plans to use locally sourced ingredients where possible, while some proprietary items will continue to be imported from Australia to retain the brand’s signature taste.
With its entry into the Indian market, Burgertory is positioning itself to be a prominent player in the country's growing hospitality sector.
