The Embassy Restaurant, a Delhi dining institution established in 1948, has opened a new outlet at Promenade Mall, Vasant Kunj, marking its expansion into South Delhi. The new restaurant follows the brand's established locations while adopting a smaller neighbourhood format.
The Vasant Kunj outlet has 45 indoor covers and an outdoor terrace with seating for over 35 guests. The format is designed to cater to lunches, family dinners, private gatherings and evening dining.
Founded by G.K. Ghai and P.N. Malhotra in the years following Partition, The Embassy has remained associated with Delhi's restaurant industry for more than seven decades. Its established menu includes The Embassy Chana Bhatura, Giant Samosa, Colonial Chicken Masala, Dal Meat and The Embassy Pudding. The business is now managed by the fourth generation, with recipes retained for over 75 years.
The new outlet also introduces The Embassy Collection, the brand's first dedicated signature cocktail programme. The menu draws on familiar Indian memories, including Parle-G biscuits, Bournvita, railway journeys, monsoon evenings and school summer vacations, translating them into cocktail concepts.
The food menu retains The Embassy's established dishes while adding small plates, Continental dishes, tandoori preparations and sharing options. New dishes include The Embassy Slow Cooked Raan, Black Cod Malai Tikka and Salmon Tikka. The restaurant has also added Continental dishes such as Chicken à la Kiev and Grilled Chicken Supreme, along with a curated High Tea menu featuring heritage-inspired offerings.
"For over 75 years, The Embassy has been part of Delhi's collective memory. Vasant Kunj allows us to bring that legacy closer to a new community while creating a more intimate, neighbourhood experience. We've stayed true to everything guests have loved for generations, while introducing thoughtful additions like our nostalgia-inspired cocktail programme and new culinary experiences that reflect how people dine today." – Avantika Sinha Bahl, Co-Founder.
"Every new Embassy restaurant is an opportunity to honour our brand’s legacy while ensuring it remains relevant for the next generation. Vasant Kunj isn't about changing who we are, it's about creating another place where people can make memories over the food and hospitality that have defined Embassy since 1948." – Pranay Bahl, Co-Founder.
The opening expands The Embassy's presence in Delhi while adding an alfresco-led format and a dedicated cocktail programme to its existing restaurant proposition.
