Restaurant India News: The Westin Mumbai Appoints Chef Mohd Faisal Qureshi as Head Chef

The Westin Mumbai has appointed Mohd Faisal Qureshi as its new Head Chef, strengthening its culinary leadership team as the hospitality sector continues to focus on premium dining and guest-led food experiences.

Chef Faisal brings more than 14 years of experience in the hospitality and culinary industry across India and international markets. He is widely known for his expertise in Awadhi and Mughlai cuisine and has handled fine dining operations, large-scale catering projects, and food promotions across multiple cities.

Over the course of his career, he has developed experience in kitchen operations, menu planning, procurement, budgeting, inventory management, hygiene compliance, and food safety standards. His background also includes managing customised dining experiences and overseeing high-volume hospitality operations.

Before joining The Westin Mumbai, Chef Faisal was associated with several international hospitality brands, including JW Marriott Hotel Chandigarh, where he worked as Master Chef. He also held culinary positions at Trident Hyderabad and Courtyard by Marriott Bhopal as Chef De Partie.

Chef Faisal has additionally participated in food festivals, hospitality showcases, and culinary promotions alongside Abdul Haleem. His international hospitality exposure includes events hosted at Atlantis The Palm and Palazzo Versace Dubai.

Chef Mohd Faisal Qureshi expressed enthusiasm about joining the hospitality brand and contributing to its culinary direction through innovation, authenticity, and guest-centric dining experiences.

The appointment comes as luxury hotels continue to strengthen culinary leadership and invest in specialised dining experiences to drive guest engagement and premium positioning within India’s hospitality sector.
