Restaurant India News: Mount Everest Breweries Enters Andhra Pradesh, Expands to 14 Markets

Mount Everest Breweries Ltd (MEBL), part of the Associated Kedia Group, has announced its entry into Andhra Pradesh, expanding its presence to 14 operational markets as the company accelerates its pan-India growth strategy.

The brewer said the move is aligned with its target of operating across 20 states by the end of FY26 and its long-term objective of capturing a 10 percent share of the Indian beer market by 2029.

Andhra Pradesh is being viewed as a high-growth beer market in Southern India, supported by a large consumer base and recent regulatory developments. Industry momentum in the state has increased following the Andhra Pradesh government’s 2024 liquor policy notification and the proposed rollout of 3,736 retail liquor outlets.

MEBL said its recently acquired brewery in Karnataka will strengthen supply chain operations for Southern markets and improve product availability and freshness across Andhra Pradesh.

The company will launch its premium beer brands Stok and Lemount in the state, with a focus on premiumisation and urban consumers. Stok, the company’s flagship brand, is positioned toward younger consumers in urban and semi-urban markets.

Vedant Kedia, Whole Time Director, Mount Everest Breweries Ltd, said, “Andhra Pradesh is a natural and strategic step in our journey to build a strong Southern India presence. With our Mysore brewery providing a robust supply chain backbone, we are well-positioned to deliver fresh, high-quality products. We are excited to bring Stok and Lemount to consumers in the state and connect with the evolving preferences of modern Indian beer drinkers.”

MEBL said its products will be distributed through retail outlets as well as the HoReCa segment, including hotels, restaurants, and cafes. The company plans to focus on brand visibility, distribution expansion, and marketing initiatives to strengthen its position in the state.

The Andhra Pradesh expansion is expected to support the company’s broader strategy of building a nationwide beer business with stronger regional market penetration across India.
