The Irish House is set to open its ninth outlet in Mumbai with a new location in Powai, marking a continued expansion in one of the city’s high-density residential and corporate hubs. The launch reflects a targeted approach towards micro-markets with strong consumption potential.
With operations spanning over a decade, the brand has positioned itself within the neighbourhood pub segment, offering a standardised mix of food, beverages, and casual dining experiences. The Powai outlet is aimed at tapping into a consumer base comprising working professionals and established residential communities, where demand for social dining formats remains consistent.
The new outlet has been designed as a compact format, focusing on efficient space utilisation while maintaining a consistent brand experience. The layout prioritises smaller seating clusters and a functional design approach to support regular footfall and repeat visits.
A key addition at the Powai location is the introduction of craft beers on tap, marking an expansion of the brand’s beverage portfolio. This move aligns with shifting consumer preferences towards artisanal and differentiated drink options. The offering is supported by a range of beer-based cocktails, aimed at increasing menu diversity and ticket size.
The food and beverage menu continues to reflect the brand’s existing positioning, with a mix of European, Continental, and Tex-Mex dishes. Core menu items such as Fish & Chips, Grande Nachos, Hunter’s Penne, Irish Trash Can, and Twisted LIIT remain part of the offering, ensuring consistency across outlets.
The expansion highlights a broader trend of established casual dining brands scaling through smaller, market-specific formats rather than large-format outlets. This approach allows operators to optimise rentals, improve per-square-foot revenue, and maintain operational efficiency.
The Powai launch addresses a gap in the brand’s Mumbai presence, bringing its total number of outlets in the city to nine. The company continues to focus on high-potential urban clusters where demand for neighbourhood dining and bar formats remains strong. The Irish House, Powai is scheduled to open on April 17, 2026.
