Wagh Bakri Tea Group has appointed Tushar Tripathi as its Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition within the organisation. The announcement was shared by the company via LinkedIn.
Tripathi has been associated with the company for over 17 years and was most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he managed end-to-end operations, including manufacturing, supply chain management, and overall operational efficiency across the business.
The company highlighted his role in strengthening manufacturing systems, improving supply chain processes, and driving operational improvements and innovation initiatives. He has also contributed to capacity expansion and better integration across the group’s tea operations.
Before becoming CEO, Tripathi held multiple senior leadership positions within the organisation, including Vice President – Operations and COO. His responsibilities included production planning, quality control systems, logistics optimisation, and long-term manufacturing strategy.
Prior to joining Wagh Bakri, he worked with PepsiCo India Holdings in operations-focused roles, where he handled manufacturing efficiency, supply chain coordination, product rollouts, and bottling operations. His earlier experience includes engineering and maintenance roles across multinational companies in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.
The appointment is relevant as tea brands like Wagh Bakri remain key suppliers to hotels, restaurants, and cafés across India. Leadership changes at the manufacturing and supply chain level can influence product consistency, pricing, and distribution efficiency for hospitality operators.
The move signals a continued focus on operational strength and internal leadership continuity, particularly at a time when food and beverage supply chains are under pressure to deliver scale, quality, and cost efficiency.
