The Fern Hotels & Resorts has signed two new hospitality properties in Maharashtra — The Fern Residency Shirdi, Series by Marriott, and The Fern Elysia Resort Dahanu, Boisar, Series by Marriott — as the company continues to strengthen its presence across pilgrimage, leisure, and emerging business destinations in the state. With the latest additions, the group’s portfolio in Maharashtra now stands at 45 operational and upcoming hotels.
The expansion highlights the growing focus among hotel operators on tier-2 and regional markets where religious tourism, domestic leisure travel, and industrial development are driving demand for organized hospitality infrastructure.
Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director, The Fern Hotels & Resorts, said, “Maharashtra continues to be a strategically important market for us, given its strong tourism potential and growing demand for quality hospitality offerings. Through these signings in Shirdi and Boisar, we aim to strengthen our presence across diverse travel destinations from prominent pilgrimage hubs to emerging leisure and business markets. Both properties reflect our commitment to offering dependable, sustainable and guest-centric hospitality experiences.”
The Fern Residency Shirdi, Series by Marriott, will be located in Shirdi, one of India’s major pilgrimage destinations. Scheduled to open in 2028, the hotel will feature 72 rooms and suites along with an all-day dining restaurant catering to both business and leisure travellers visiting the city.
Nitin Kote, Partner – Hotel Sai Shatabdi, said, “With the city welcoming visitors from across the country throughout the year, we are confident this partnership will offer guests a comfortable and dependable stay experience backed by quality hospitality standards.”
The second signing, The Fern Elysia Resort Dahanu, Boisar, Series by Marriott, is planned for Boisar and is expected to open in 2029. The property will include 76 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, and a bar. The project is positioned to serve both leisure travellers and business visitors linked to the region’s industrial growth and coastal tourism activity.
Aniket Save, Partner – DAN Hospitality & Vacation Sharing Company, said, “Our association with The Fern Hotels & Resorts marks an exciting step for this upcoming resort in Boisar. We look forward to creating a destination that blends leisure, comfort and thoughtful hospitality, catering to the evolving needs of travellers visiting the region.”
The latest signings reflect a broader trend in India’s hospitality sector, where hotel operators are expanding into high-potential secondary markets to capture rising domestic travel demand and strengthen branded accommodation supply across regional destinations.
