Restaurant India News: Tathastu Resorts Enters Satpura with Fifth Wildlife Property in India

Tathastu Resorts has expanded its presence in India’s wildlife hospitality segment with the launch of ‘Tathastu Satpura’, a new resort located within the Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. The addition marks the group’s fifth property in its jungle resort portfolio, following its existing operations in Pench, Kanha, Tadoba, and Bandhavgarh.

The newly opened property includes 34 Villa Rooms and 5 exclusive pool suites, designed to cater to travellers seeking proximity to forest environments while maintaining standardised hospitality infrastructure. The accommodation format includes villas with private verandas and forest-facing layouts, reflecting a continued industry focus on experiential stays in nature-driven destinations. All units are equipped with two washrooms, a design feature aimed at improving guest convenience, particularly for early morning safari schedules.

“Hidden quietly in the heart of Madhya Pradesh lies a destination that offers something far more peaceful, raw and authentic – Satpura. Often overlooked, this forest region is a paradise for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and travellers seeking calm, away from crowded tourist circuits. At its core is Satpura Tiger Reserve, one of India’s most underrated yet rewarding wildlife destinations, known for its rich biodiversity and remarkably tranquil safari experience where visitors can truly listen to the forest. With the launch of Tathastu Satpura, we aim to create a stay that complements the spirit of this landscape, immersive, intimate and deeply connected to the wilderness,” said Anil Agarwala, Managing Director, Tathastu Resorts.

Food and beverage operations at the resort are anchored by ‘Gilhari’, a multi-cuisine restaurant offering both Indian and international dishes. The restaurant’s branding draws reference from the Indian Giant Squirrel, a species native to the region and also the official mascot of the Satpura Tiger Reserve. The property also includes a bar designed with natural materials and neutral tones, aligning with the overall positioning of the resort within a forest setting.

Wildlife tourism remains the primary driver of demand for the location, with guided safaris forming a core part of the guest experience. The reserve offers sightings of species such as tigers, leopards, sloth bears, Indian giant squirrels, sambar deer, and a range of birdlife. The relatively undisturbed terrain and lower tourist density compared to other reserves are contributing factors to its increasing visibility among wildlife travellers.

In addition to safaris, the resort has incorporated a mix of recreational and activity-based offerings including jungle walks, riverside sundowners, pottery sessions, and reflexology walks. Indoor amenities include a games room, a box cricket area, karaoke setups, and a temperature-controlled indoor swimming pool. The property also integrates a social initiative by employing visually impaired therapists for spa services, reflecting a growing trend of inclusive employment practices within the hospitality sector.

With this launch, Tathastu Resorts continues to build a network of properties across key tiger reserves, reinforcing its focus on wildlife-led travel experiences. The expansion comes at a time when the demand for nature-based tourism in India is increasing, driven by travellers looking for structured outdoor experiences combined with hospitality-led comfort.
