Sterling Holiday Resorts has announced the launch of Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala, adding a new leisure property to its network in North India. The opening marks Sterling’s sixth resort in Himachal Pradesh and strengthens its presence in the state as part of a broader strategy to build connected leisure destinations.
Located with views of the Dhauladhar ranges and overlooking the Kangra Valley, the resort is positioned as a contemporary mountain retreat that combines accommodation with a food-and-beverage-focused social environment. The property is designed to cater to family holidays, small celebrations, and group travel.
Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala offers a mix of rooms and suites, each with a private sit-out. Shared amenities include a rooftop infinity pool and common areas intended for informal interaction. The resort also places emphasis on dining and events as key components of the guest experience.
The culinary offerings include Mezban, an all-day dining restaurant serving Indian cuisine, Himachali-influenced dishes, and international options. Ignis, the rooftop bar, is positioned as an evening-led venue, while Summit, a multi-purpose event space, supports meetings, workshops, and small-scale social functions.
Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director and CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said, “Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala is a strategic addition to our Himachal Pradesh portfolio, strengthening our ability to offer immersive, multi-destination journeys across the state. Dharamshala plays a pivotal role in connecting our presence across Himachal, enabling curated circuits that combine culture, spirituality, leisure and the outdoors, delivered with the consistency of the Sterling experience.”
Situated a short distance from McLeod Ganj, the resort provides access to key local attractions such as monasteries, markets, and outdoor activities including the Triund trek, Bhagsu Waterfall, and day trips to Bir–Billing, known for paragliding.
Nitasha Jamwal, Managing Director of Nirmaya, said, “Our vision for Dharamshala was to create a retreat that brings a spectrum of guests from across India, while we offer them refined hospitality in the lap of Himalayas. Partnering with Sterling is natural choice — their deep understanding of India’s leisure segment, regional presence, and ability to blend local character with national scale make them an ideal collaborator. Together, we hope to present Dharamshala not just as a destination, but as a feeling of content and renewal.”
With the addition of Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala, the company continues to build a portfolio of leisure resorts aimed at enabling multi-location travel experiences across India, while maintaining standardised service delivery and operational consistency.
