Restaurant India News: Sofitel Mumbai BKC Hosts Arabian Culinary Residency with Chef Mazen Abdallah

Sofitel Mumbai BKC is set to host a limited-period culinary residency titled “Flavours of Arabia” at Pondichéry Café, featuring Mazen Abdallah, Chef de Cuisine at Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk.

The residency will run across nine dinner services and conclude with a signature brunch, offering guests a menu focused on Levantine and Arabian cuisine. The dining experience will include mezze selections, live culinary stations, charcoal-grilled dishes, traditional mains, and Arabic desserts prepared using seasonal ingredients.

Chef Mazen Abdallah brings more than two decades of experience in luxury hospitality and is known for combining traditional Levantine cooking methods with contemporary culinary techniques.

Chef Mazen Abdallah said, “My goal is for guests to experience the warmth of Arabian hospitality alongside the flavors I grew up with. Through this residency, I wanted to bring together the balance of citrus, olive oil, fresh herbs, and traditional Levantine techniques with a modern Sofitel touch.”

The event is part of a collaboration between Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk and Sofitel Mumbai BKC, reflecting the hospitality group’s focus on culinary exchange and destination-led dining experiences.

Siddhesh Parkar, Chef de Cuisine at Sofitel Mumbai BKC, said, “We are delighted to welcome Chef Mazen to Sofitel Mumbai BKC for this special residency. Flavours of Arabia brings together two Sofitel destinations through cuisine, offering guests an immersive dining experience rooted in culture, craftsmanship, and shared hospitality values.”

Luxury hotels across India are increasingly using chef residencies and international culinary collaborations to drive premium dining traffic and differentiated food and beverage experiences, particularly within metro hospitality markets.
