Restaurant India News: PVR Cinemas Introduces Plant-Based Gelatos by 1.5 Degree for Health-Conscious Moviegoers

1.5 Degree, a Delhi-based plant-based dairy start-up recently backed by seed funding from BITS Pilani, has entered a new phase of retail expansion through its collaboration with PVR Cinemas, India’s largest multiplex chain. The partnership marks the brand’s first public retail presence through kiosks offering 100 percent natural, lactose-free gelatos, shakes, and sundaes.

With the tagline “Plant-based to Cool a Warmer Planet,” the initiative aims to make sustainable and health-conscious indulgence more accessible to mainstream audiences. The first two kiosks have been opened at PVR ECX Chanakyapuri, Delhi’s only ECX, and PVR Inox Worldmark, Gurgaon, two of NCR’s busiest cinema destinations.

The new kiosks offer a range of lactose-free, palm-oil-free gelatos, shakes, and sundaes, catering to growing consumer demand for better-for-you dessert options. Designed as illuminated experiential carts, the kiosks are built to reflect the premium atmosphere of PVR cinemas while staying true to 1.5 Degree’s sustainability-focused mission.

To commemorate the launch, the brand has introduced a set of PVR-inspired flavours, including Caramel Popcorn Gelato, along with a menu featuring Mixed Berry, Biscoff, Mango, Coffee, and No-Added-Sugar Blueberry. Visitors can also choose from a lineup of sugar-free shakes and signature sundaes served in cans to ensure freshness and convenience.
