Restaurant India News: Little Caesars Partners Flytrex for Advanced Drone Food Delivery

Little Caesars has partnered with Flytrex to expand its drone-based delivery capabilities, introducing a new aircraft designed to handle larger meal orders. The rollout is powered by Flytrex’s Sky2 drone, which enables delivery of full family-sized orders in a single trip.

According to the company, the Sky2 drone can carry up to 8.8 pounds, positioning it as the highest-capacity drone currently used for food delivery. The system allows customers to receive orders such as two large pizzas along with beverages and side items in one flight, addressing previous limitations in drone payload capacity.

Amit Regev, CEO and co-founder of Flytrex, said, "Flytrex is laser-focused on making on-demand food delivery by drone a reality for everyday families. Until now, drones simply weren't capable of delivering a full family meal. The Sky2 changes that."

The service has been launched at a Little Caesars outlet in Wylie, Texas, where it is integrated directly with the brand’s ordering system. The drone operates within a range of up to four miles, with an average delivery time of 4.5 minutes from takeoff to order completion.

Trish Heusel, vice president of innovation at Little Caesars, said, "Innovation at Little Caesars has always been driven by one thing — making it easier for customers to enjoy our pizza."

In addition to pizzas, the drone can carry side items such as Crazy Puffs, Crazy Bread, and 20-ounce beverages, expanding its applicability across menu categories. The initiative follows a period of growth for Flytrex, including investment from Uber and partnerships with DoorDash and Wing, along with regulatory approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for beyond visual line of sight operations.

The development reflects increasing investment in last-mile delivery innovation, with operators exploring automation to improve delivery speed, efficiency, and order capacity.
