
Sabrosa Tacos, a fast-casual taco chain from the UK, is gearing up to enter the Indian retail and dining space through a partnership with Franchise India Brands Limited. Established in January 2022, the company has moved quickly from its origins as a dark kitchen to a fully operational dine-in model. With the brand now opening global franchise opportunities, India has been identified as a key focus for its next growth phase.
The company has built its core identity around Birria, a slow-cooked, spice-driven Mexican preparation that has seen international traction. Sabrosa Tacos maintains a strong emphasis on authenticity through its proprietary spice mixes, fresh corn masa tortillas, and a consistent fast-casual format. Its outlets also incorporate floor-to-ceiling street-art murals, forming a distinct part of the customer experience.
Following the launch of its first dine-in outlet, the brand has recorded encouraging performance indicators, including year-on-year sales growth, positive customer reviews across platforms, and repeat demand on delivery channels.
India’s evolving food service market has shown increasing interest in global flavours, particularly from Millennial and Gen Z consumers. Although a handful of taco-led concepts are present, the category remains relatively small, with birria-focused formats still rare. Sabrosa Tacos views this as an opportunity to introduce a differentiated model that can operate in both major metros and expanding Tier l and Tier ll markets.

The expansion strategy includes multiple store formats based on market and real estate feasibility. These will include smaller kiosk-style outlets under Sabrosa Tacos Cocina and larger dine-in taquerias under Sabrosa Tacos Clasico.
Franchise India Brands Limited will manage Sabrosa Tacos’s market entry, franchise development, and broader scale-up. The organisation has previously facilitated the India launch of several international F&B brands and plans to position Sabrosa Tacos within the quick service and fast-casual segment.

The rollout will begin with franchise onboarding followed by pilot outlets in leading metropolitan cities. Subsequent expansion into Tier l and Tier ll regions will follow a phased model. While the menu may be selectively adapted for Indian preferences, Sabrosa Tacos intends to retain its birria-led core as it builds its presence across the country.
