Roswyn Mumbai has officially opened as India’s first Morgans Originals property, marking the lifestyle hospitality brand’s entry into the country through Ennismore and Accor. Located near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the 109-suite hotel targets business and leisure travellers looking for longer stays, flexible spaces, and lifestyle-driven hospitality experiences.
Positioned around the concept of “a home in another city,” the property has been designed to accommodate changing travel patterns where work, social interaction, and wellness increasingly overlap. The hotel features suites starting at 80 square metres, each equipped with lounge areas, kitchenettes, home bars, study spaces, and separate bedrooms to support extended business stays and multi-purpose use.
The opening highlights the continued growth of lifestyle-led hospitality formats in India, particularly in gateway cities such as Mumbai where demand for hybrid business and leisure accommodation continues to rise.
“Mumbai moves quickly, but people still look for places where they can slow down, meet, and spend time together,” said Nitan Chhatwal, Managing Director of Shrem Airport Hotels. “With Roswyn, we wanted to create something that feels easy to return to—whether that’s for dinner, conversations, or simply a pause in the day.”
Speaking with Outlook Traveller, Rajiv Kapoor, General Manager - Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel, described the property as a “home for business. Mumbai is the New York of India,” he said. “People come here with a purpose. Roswyn gives them everything they need under one roof, a place to work, rest, and look after their wellbeing without losing time moving between offices, hotels, and meeting spaces.” Kapoor also outlined the hotel’s dual operating model, saying, “Monday to Friday, we are a business hotel. On Friday night, we turn into a resort.”
The property includes The Third Room, a workspace and networking club designed for meetings and informal interactions. Food and beverage concepts include Fi'lia, which focuses on Italian cuisine, and Black Lacquer, a Japanese listening bar centred around vinyl music culture, sake, shochu, and cocktails.
Wellness has been positioned as a key pillar of the hotel’s offering. Facilities include a Technogym-powered fitness centre, infinity pool, children’s zone, and Blu Xone, which the company describes as India’s first longevity-focused wellness concept.
“After COVID, people have realised that experiences matter more than ever,” Kapoor told Outlook Traveller. “It is not just about spending money. It is about the value and quality of the experience.”
The interiors were designed by Daphné Desjeux, with the visual language inspired by a residential concept rather than a conventional luxury hotel format. Design elements reference Mumbai’s culture and coastline through artwork, ceramics, and layered textures. Roswyn’s launch also signals Ennismore’s larger expansion ambitions in India’s hospitality market.
Louis Abboud, Chief Growth Officer Ennismore, said, “Lifestyle hospitality today is about far more than design-led hotels; it’s about creating culturally relevant destinations that become part of a city’s everyday rhythm. India is one of the most dynamic hospitality markets globally and an important focus for Ennismore’s growth. Roswyn, under Morgans Originals, marks our first hotel in the country, and an important step as we look to bring several more distinctive projects to the market in the years ahead.”
Ranju Alex, CEO of Accor South Asia, added, “At Accor, we see hospitality as an ever-evolving reflection of how people live, connect, and experience cities today. The opening of Roswyn, as part of Ennismore brands, marks an important milestone in bringing globally relevant, lifestyle-led hospitality to India. With Roswyn, we are not just introducing a new hotel, but a vibrant destination designed to integrate seamlessly into the cultural fabric of the city. This launch underscores our commitment to expanding our lifestyle portfolio in India, in partnership with Ennismore, and delivering distinctive experiences that resonate with the modern traveller”.
The hotel is being led operationally by Rajiv Kapoor and Hotel Manager Annam Lubana, with a focus on long-stay comfort, business convenience, and experience-led hospitality.
