
Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield has appointed Sijo John as Director of Finance, strengthening the hotel’s leadership team as hospitality companies continue to focus on tighter financial governance, forecasting accuracy, and profitability management.
In his new role, John will oversee the hotel’s financial operations, including budgeting, compliance, strategic financial planning, and performance management to support long-term business growth.
John brings more than 15 years of hospitality industry experience, including over 13 years within the Marriott International ecosystem. Before joining Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield, he served as Director of Finance at JW Marriott Bengaluru, where he managed financial strategy aligned with operational and ownership objectives.
Over the course of his career, he has held several finance leadership roles across Marriott properties, including Financial Controller and Assistant Financial Controller at JW Marriott Bengaluru, Assistant Financial Controller at Fairfield by Marriott Whitefield, Finance Manager at Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield and Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru, and Finance Executive at Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Airport. He also gained international hospitality experience at Zitahli Resorts & Spa.
An MBA graduate from ICFAI University and a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from St. Aloysius College, John specialises in budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, cash flow optimisation, compliance, CapEx planning, and strategic business planning.
During his tenure with Marriott International, he received multiple industry recognitions, including the ‘Owner Relationship Award’ at the South Asia Finance Conference 2025 and the South Asia Finance Breakout Summit 2023, the 2024 APEC Quarterly Award (Q1) for Forecast Accuracy in the Luxury Segment, the Cash Flow Excellence Award at the Bengaluru Market Annual DOF Meet 2024, and the ‘Leadership Award’ for 2023 at JW Marriott Bengaluru.
John has also managed complex financial transitions, including overseeing operations during a Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (IRP) between January 2024 and January 2025.
