Restaurant India News: ColdStar Scales Up Supply Chain as Lenexis Targets 500 QSR Outlets

ColdStar Logistics is expanding its supply chain capacity as its long-term partner Lenexis Foodworks accelerates store growth across India. The move highlights the increasing role of backend logistics in scaling quick service restaurant operations across multiple cities.

ColdStar currently manages end-to-end multi-temperature supply chain operations for 262 outlets operated by Lenexis Foodworks, covering brands such as Chinese Wok, Big Bowl, and The Momo Co.. Its scope includes primary transportation, warehousing across frozen, chilled, and ambient categories, and last-mile deliveries.

The logistics provider is now preparing to scale operations to support more than 500 stores over the next 3 years, aligning with Lenexis Foodworks’ expansion plans. At present, ColdStar handles over 360 SKUs for the QSR operator, enabling approximately 2,400 SKU-line orders daily across its network with a reported 99.85 percent delivery accuracy, while maintaining daily supply continuity.

The partnership between the two companies spans more than 10+ years and has evolved alongside the operator’s growth. ColdStar has transitioned its model from a mixed fresh and warehousing approach to a system built on pre-packed frozen, chilled, and dry distribution designed for store-level efficiency.

Sameer Varma, Executive Director, ColdStar Logistics, said, “We first began working with Lenexis Foodworks over a decade ago. Over the years we have successfully anticipated new demand and adapted our services to meet evolving requirements. We moved from a part-fresh, part-warehousing model to a completely pre-packed frozen, chiller and dry distribution system for store deliveries. Consistency, zero stock out, freshness, speed and availability contribute to be our USPs for our partner. As Lenexis gears up for expansion over the next three years, we’ve anticipated the demand to come and are ready to double our capacity to over 500 stores.”

Operationally, ColdStar supports distribution across metro as well as Tier I, II, and III markets through scheduled replenishment cycles that range from bi-weekly to fortnightly. Its system uses AI and machine learning-based planning, route optimisation, real-time temperature tracking, and predictive alerts to manage inventory flow and reduce disruptions.

Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Director, Lenexis Foodworks, said, “Supply chain is a critical enabler of scale in the QSR business. As Lenexis Foodworks expands towards 500+ stores, consistency, speed and reliability across markets become non-negotiable. Our partnership with ColdStar has played a key role in ensuring seamless operations and maintaining product quality at scale, and we see this collaboration continuing to be a strong growth enabler in the years ahead”.

With Lenexis Foodworks targeting a network of 500+ outlets over the next three years, ColdStar is increasing infrastructure investments across key cities and emerging consumption hubs. The development reflects a broader shift in the hospitality sector, where supply chain capability is becoming central to scaling operations, maintaining consistency, and supporting multi-city QSR expansion.
