Restaurant India News: CavinKare Launches 72 Ice Cream SKUs Under Cavin’s Brand, Starts at Rs 89

CavinKare has entered the ice cream segment under its Cavin’s brand, marking its expansion within the dairy category as it looks to address changing consumption patterns in India’s food retail market.

The company has introduced a portfolio of 72 variants across 24 flavours, structured into seven categories including fruit, dry fruit, mithai, chocolate, classic, signature, and candy-based offerings. The range is developed using a cow milk base and incorporates ingredients such as fruits, chocolates, nuts, and traditional Indian sweets.

The initial rollout will take place in Chennai, with availability through delivery platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato. The company plans to expand into quick commerce channels and offline retail in a phased manner across additional markets. The launch comes as demand for desserts continues to evolve, with consumers opting for more frequent consumption and seeking wider product variety and differentiated formats. CavinKare’s entry aligns with growth trends in the ice cream segment, particularly within premium offerings.

CK Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director, CavinKare, said, “We have always believed that categories evolve when consumer expectations change, and the ice cream segment in India is at that point today. What was once a seasonal treat is now becoming a more frequent, experience-led indulgence, with consumers seeking greater variety, richness, and novelty. Our entry into this category with Cavin’s is a strategic move to participate in and shape this evolution. Through our infusion-led approach, we are introducing a format that brings the kind of indulgence consumers typically associate with ice cream parlours into a far more accessible, at-home experience. This is not just about launching a new range, but about unlocking the next phase of growth for the category while building a strong, differentiated business for CavinKare in the premium dairy space.”

Srivatsan Krishnamurthi, Business Head, Cold Chain, CavinKare, added, “We are seeing a clear shift in consumer preferences, where ice cream is no longer just about flavours, but about the overall experience like texture, inclusions, and indulgence in every bite. That insight led us to develop Cavin’s infusion-led range, where real fruits, chocolates, premium nuts, cookies, and even traditional mithai are blended into the ice cream to create a more layered and satisfying experience."

The company has priced the range starting at Rs 89 and plans to scale distribution across major cities following the initial launch. The move strengthens CavinKare’s position in the dairy segment while expanding into a high-growth category within India’s food and grocery retail market.
