Baskin-Robbins has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new range of baked desserts, marking its entry into the broader bakery and non-frozen dessert category. The move reflects the brand's strategy to diversify beyond its traditional ice cream offerings and cater to changing consumer preferences in the dessert market.
Launched under the "Treats Beyond Ice Cream" banner, the new range features artisanal baked desserts aimed at consumers seeking classic dessert options outside the frozen segment. The collection includes baked cheesecakes in Classic, Mango Sauce, and Tiramisu flavours, along with layered mousse cakes available in Caramel and Strawberry Mousse variants.
While Baskin-Robbins has previously expanded its portfolio with products such as ice cream cakes, frozen beverages, and sundaes, the latest launch marks a shift towards standalone baked desserts, broadening the brand's presence in the organised dessert category.
Founded in 1945 in Glendale, California, by brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, Baskin-Robbins built its global identity around its signature "31 flavors" concept, representing a different flavour for each day of the month. Today, the company operates more than 8,000 outlets across international markets.
In India, Baskin-Robbins entered the market in 1993 through a joint venture with the Graviss Group and opened its first parlour in Mumbai. The latest expansion into baked desserts represents another step in strengthening its product portfolio in one of its key international markets.
