Restaurant India News: The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake Names Amit Basu as Director of Food & Beverage

The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake and Lakeside Chalet, Marriott Executive Apartments has appointed Amit Basu as its new Director of Food & Beverage, entrusting him with the responsibility of overseeing all food and beverage operations across the property.

With over 21 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Basu brings expertise gained from leadership roles at luxury hospitality brands including Grand Hyatt, Sofitel, The Ritz-Carlton and The Leela. His background spans food and beverage strategy, operational management, guest experience and team development.

In his new role, Basu will lead the strategic direction of the hotel's food and beverage division, managing restaurants, bars, banquets, in-room dining, conferences, weddings and large-scale events. His responsibilities will also include strengthening dining concepts, improving operational performance and driving revenue growth across the portfolio.

Throughout his career, Basu has managed restaurant promotions, seasonal campaigns, beverage programmes and large-scale hospitality events while focusing on operational efficiencies and profitability. He has also worked on cost optimisation initiatives and process improvements to support business performance.
