Milagro Brings European Fine Dining and Cocktail Expertise to Mumbai

Milagro, a European fine-dining restaurant and cocktail bar, has opened its doors in Mumbai’s Prabhadevi area, blending luxury dining with a vibrant bar experience. The restaurant offers two distinct spaces—a tranquil dining area and an energetic cocktail bar inspired by vintage jazz—aimed at catering to Mumbai's diverse and cosmopolitan crowd.  

After its success in Goa, the restaurant is co-founded by Francesca Smith and Romeo, along with Suved Lohia, Deepesh Sharma, Hardik Sawla, and Waseem R Amrohi. Chef José Manuel Borrallo Sánchez from Seville, Spain, leads the culinary team, bringing experience from Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe. On the beverage front, mixologists Sebastian Donso, named the world’s best bartender in 2014, and Felipe Guajardo Silva, known for molecular mixology, elevate the cocktail menu with their expertise.  

Mumbai has an energy like no other, and we wanted to create a space that reflects that spirit while offering a refined dining experience,” said Francesca Smith, Founder of Milagro.  

The restaurant’s interiors, designed by Francesca herself, fuse Parisian elegance with modern luxury. Graceful arches, sparkling chandeliers, and antique furniture create an intimate dining environment, while the cocktail bar’s crimson walls and gold-leaf ceilings channel the charm of vintage jazz bars. The outdoor seating provides a calm retreat from Mumbai’s bustle, offering a mix of lush greenery and soft lighting.  

We wanted Milagro to be a place where every detail—from the interiors to the menu—creates a sense of wonder,” said Romeo, Co-Founder of Milagro.  

The menu highlights authentic Spanish cuisine with a modern twist, featuring signature dishes such as Caviar Blinis, Gazpacho, Seaquake Maremoto, and Lobster Formentera. Chef José describes Spanish cuisine as “simplicity and soul,” adding that Milagro aims to tailor these flavors to Mumbai’s sophisticated tastes.  

The cocktail menu, curated by Sebastian Donso, includes unique options like the Cocoa Marianito, Santeria, and Oaxaca Martini. Dessert cocktails and warm beverages further add depth to the offerings, ensuring a well-rounded experience for patrons.
