Läderach Enters India With First Chocolaterie at Jio World Plaza, Mumbai

Khimji Ramdas Group has opened the first Indian chocolaterie of Swiss chocolate brand Läderach at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai through a franchise partnership, marking the brand’s entry into the Indian retail market.

The store introduces Läderach’s retail format to Indian consumers, with a product range that includes its signature FrischSchoggi fresh chocolate, artisanal pralines and premium gifting assortments. The outlet is located at Jio World Plaza in Bandra Kurla Complex, a luxury retail destination that houses international brands.

Founded in 1962, Läderach is a family-owned Swiss chocolatier known for its handcrafted chocolate products and in-store retail model. The company produces its chocolate exclusively in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland, overseeing the process from cocoa bean to retail counter.

The company is led by the third generation of the Läderach family, brothers Johannes, Elias and David Läderach. Elias Läderach, who holds the title of World Chocolate Master, represents the company’s chocolate-making expertise.

Läderach employs more than 2,500 people from over 80 countries and operates more than 260 chocolateries across 30 countries. Its product portfolio includes fresh chocolate, pralines and other handcrafted creations.

The Mumbai outlet marks the start of its partnership with Läderach in India. The franchise arrangement brings the Swiss brand’s retail model and product range to a market where the company is establishing its first physical presence.

The opening adds another international premium chocolate brand to Mumbai’s luxury retail segment, with the store combining fresh chocolate sales, confectionery and gifting under one retail format.
