EBG Group is entering the experiential dining segment with Tarzan Jungle Cafe, a nature-themed café concept built around immersive interiors and a farm-linked food sourcing model. The group plans to open more than 100 cafés across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities over the next three years, with an investment of over Rs 2 crore earmarked for its first flagship outlet.
The first Tarzan Jungle Cafe is scheduled to open in Hyderabad by March 2027. The group plans to expand into Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and other major cities in phases. It will initially operate flagship outlets directly before introducing a franchise model.
“India is moving from simply dining out to choosing places that reflect how people want to live. With Tarzan Jungle Cafe, we want to bring together the emotion of nature, the excitement of an immersive experience and the trust of food whose source can increasingly be seen and understood. Our ambition is to build a concept that is distinctive enough to create an experience, yet structured enough to scale across cities,” said Irfan Khan, Founder & Chairman, EBG Group.
The concept will follow the group’s ‘Know Your Source’ approach, which focuses on sourcing fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy and proteins from identified farms, producers and approved supply partners. Local and seasonal sourcing will be prioritised where practical, while selected ingredients may eventually feature digital provenance information.
“The company intends to build a qualified sourcing network that prioritises fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy and proteins from identified farms, producers and approved supply partners, with local and seasonal sourcing wherever practical. As the platform evolves, selected ingredients may carry digital provenance, allowing customers to understand where their food comes from and how it reaches the café,” said Dr Irfan.
Tarzan Jungle Cafe will add to EBG Group’s existing food and beverage portfolio, which includes 50+ Adhira & Appa Coffee cafés, Natuf Café, its Levantine café brand, and Chhota Bheem Cafe in Hyderabad, a family-focused experiential dining concept.
The brand is planned across three formats: Tarzan Express, a pod or kiosk; Tarzan Midway Café; and Jungle Flagship, a G+1 outlet spanning approximately 3,500–5,000 sq. ft. The first Hyderabad outlet will serve as the prototype for subsequent expansion.
The launch comes as the group targets consumers looking for venues for everyday dining, family outings, celebrations, date nights and informal meetings. Its expansion strategy combines company-operated flagships with a planned franchise network to establish the concept across multiple markets.
