DeVANS Modern Breweries Launches Premium Craft Gin Gingalalahu in India

DeVANS Modern Breweries has entered India's premium gin segment with the launch of Gingalalahu, an Indian Craft Dry Gin, expanding its premium spirits portfolio beyond its whisky offerings. The company, known for producing GianChand Single Malt Whisky, said the new product has been developed using nine botanicals and distilled in small-batch pot stills.

Bottled at 42.8 percent ABV, Gingalalahu is produced in batches of 200 Liters. The company said the gin follows a classic dry gin style without artificial flavourings or added sweeteners, with its flavour profile derived entirely from selected botanicals and spices.

The launch comes as premium craft spirits continue to gain traction among Indian consumers seeking products focused on quality, craftsmanship and provenance.

Prem Dewan, Chairman & Managing Director, DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd., said, "The launch of Gingalalahu marks an exciting milestone for DeVANS as we enter the premium craft gin category. The modern consumer is increasingly seeking authentic spirits which are rooted in craftsmanship and quality. With Gingalalahu, we have created a gin which celebrates the qualities of the finest natural botanicals complemented with small-batch distillation techniques. We are delighted that the craftsmanship behind Gingalalahu has been recognized in respected international spirits competitions and industry experts even before its commercial debut. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to quality as we introduce Gingalalahu to consumers. Our vision to create premium Indian spirits through craftsmanship and authenticity has been set in motion."

Ahead of its commercial debut, Gingalalahu received industry recognition at several international spirits competitions. The gin won a Gold Medal at the Global Gin Masters 2025 in the Super Premium Category, a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026, and Silver medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), UK 2026, and the World Gin Awards, UK 2026.

The product also received recognition from gin expert and author Geraldine Coates, who described Gingalalahu as an "excellent classic style gin with a good balance of juniper, citrus and spice, with a full-flavored and smooth mouthfeel and a long, clean finish." She also noted its juniper-forward profile, balanced spice and citrus character.

With the launch of Gingalalahu, DeVANS Modern Breweries is strengthening its presence in India's premium alcoholic beverages market while expanding into the fast-growing craft gin category.
