Burger King has opened its 600th restaurant in India at GTB Nagar, Delhi, taking its Delhi NCR network to more than 100 restaurants and marking the brand’s return to the city where it began its India operations in 2014.
The new outlet also takes Burger King’s presence to more than 140 cities across India, reflecting its continued expansion across metropolitan and emerging markets. The company has focused on expanding its restaurant network, strengthening its supply chain, developing its menu and value proposition, and increasing digital adoption. Its expansion has also included the addition of the BK Café business.
The GTB Nagar restaurant offers Burger King’s core menu, including the WHOPPER, burgers, wraps, snacks, desserts and beverages. The location adds the brand to a neighbourhood with a large young consumer base and established retail and foodservice activity.
Rajeev Varman, Group CEO and Whole-Time Director, Restaurant Brands Asia, said, “Our 600th restaurant is a testament to the love and support we get from our guests, vendor partners and most importantly each and every one of our restaurant employees. I remain thankful to all of them for their invaluable contributions. Every new restaurant brings the brand closer to more guests, while enabling us to build greater relevance across markets and occasions. As we continue to scale, we are creating efficiencies that position the business for sustainable and responsible expansion and the next phase of our growth journey.”
Burger King has also continued to expand its menu through limited-time products and locally relevant offerings. Its portfolio has included ranges such as Korean and Peri-Peri, alongside its existing burgers, snacks, desserts and beverages.
The 600-restaurant milestone comes as Burger King continues to build its India network through a combination of new outlets, digital ordering and formats aimed at different consumption occasions.
