Australian Burger Brand Burgertory Enters India With First Mumbai Outlet

Australian-born gourmet burger brand Burgertory has entered India with its first outlet in Andheri, Mumbai, marking its debut in the Indian foodservice market. The brand operates around its ‘Saints vs Sinners’ menu concept, dividing offerings between lighter choices and more indulgent options.

The India launch combines Burgertory’s Australian positioning with flavours developed for local preferences. The burger menu includes Seoul Smasher, Chipotle Stack, Fajita Fusion, Burn to Hell, Moroccan Flame and British Lion, along with Indian-inspired options such as Rogan Romance, Paneer Thecha, Tandoori Peri Peri Chicken and Kerala Fried Chicken. The Mumbai Slyder adds a city-specific option to the menu.

The offering extends beyond burgers to wings, loaded fries, Cheese Bomb Bites, wraps, platters and desserts. The beverage selection includes cocktails, beer and milkshakes. Vegetarian options include Golden Spud, Tofu Thunder, Mushroom King Portobello and Garden Glory.

Burgertory prepares its sauces in-house using its own spice blends and marinates its meat patties in-house. The menu is priced between Rs 299 and Rs 799, with most burgers priced between Rs 399 and Rs 550. Burgers are served with 100g of fries and an in-house dip.

Tarun Sachdeva, CEO, Burgertory India Expansion, said, “Expanding an international brand into a new market is about understanding local consumer preferences while staying true to what makes the brand distinctive. India presents an opportunity for Burgertory to bring its Australian-born burger culture to a diverse and evolving dining landscape. Our approach is to build the brand with a long-term perspective, adapting to regional tastes while maintaining the core philosophy that defines Burgertory. We see the India launch as the beginning of a journey focused on creating a recognisable brand and an experience that goes beyond the menu.”

Charanjeet Mahedu, Master Franchisee, Maharashtra & Goa, Burgertory, added, “Burgertory was born out of a simple belief that a great burger starts with freshness, quality ingredients and flavours that stand out. Bringing the brand to India is an opportunity to introduce our Australian burger culture while creating an experience that resonates with Indian consumers. We have stayed true to our core philosophy while developing a menu that brings together bold flavours, distinctive combinations and local favourites. Mumbai, with its vibrant food culture and openness to new experiences, felt like the natural place to begin this journey. With Burgertory, we want to offer people more than just a great burger, we want to create a space where food, drinks, music and good company come together.”

Mumbai has been selected as the launch market for the brand’s India entry, with the company citing the city’s food culture and consumer openness to new dining formats. The outlet combines the burger menu with beverages and music as part of its overall restaurant format.

Burgertory plans to build its presence in India over time, with the Mumbai launch serving as the starting point for its expansion. The brand intends to retain its core Australian identity while adapting its menu to regional tastes as it enters the Indian market.
