wagamama is set to open its first restaurant in Delhi NCR at CyberHub, Gurugram, on 25 September, marking its second market entry in India after launching in Mumbai in 2025. The expansion adds the pan-Asian restaurant brand to one of the region’s major commercial and dining destinations.
Founded in Bloomsbury, London, in 1992, wagamama was inspired by Japan’s ramen-bar format and operates around fresh food cooked to order, open kitchens and communal seating. The brand has grown to more than 220 restaurants across 18 countries.
The CyberHub restaurant will follow wagamama’s established operating and design format, with an open kitchen, communal benches and an informal dining layout. The format is intended to maintain a visible connection between the kitchen and dining area while supporting the brand’s casual dining model.
“wagamama’s arrival in delhi ncr is an important step in our journey in india,” says vivek raghunath, business head, wagamama india. “the response since our first opening in mumbai has reinforced our belief that there is a growing audience here for what wagamama stands for — great food, distinctive flavours and an experience that feels relaxed, energetic and inclusive. cyberhub was a natural next step for us: it is a destination that brings together people from across delhi ncr, and we are excited to now make wagamama part of that experience.”
The menu at the Gurugram outlet will include wagamama’s established dishes such as Chicken Katsu Curry, Firecracker Chicken and Yasai Yaki Soba, alongside ramen including Chilli Tantanmen and Kare Burosu. The offering also includes gyozas, bao and Bang Bang Cauliflower, while Golden Banana Katsu is among the dessert options.
More than half the menu offers vegetarian or vegan choices, with Jain-friendly options also identified. The India menu will continue to be adapted around local dining preferences while retaining the brand’s core menu formats.
The beverage programme includes fresh-pressed juices with no added sugar, Asian-inspired cocktails and soft cocktails, along with wines and spirits. The restaurant is positioned to serve different occasions, including weekday lunches, after-work dining and evening meals.
“india is a strategic growth market for wagamama, and our ambition is to build a meaningful, long-term presence here,” says karan kapur, executive director, k hospitality. “we have set ourselves a vision of taking wagamama to 100 restaurants across india over the next decade, and delhi ncr is an important step in that journey. the response to the brand in mumbai has strengthened our confidence in the opportunity, and we see significant potential to scale across key metropolitan markets as well as emerging cities. our focus will be on disciplined expansion — choosing the right locations, building strong restaurant economics and, importantly, protecting the distinctiveness of wagamama as we grow.”
The Delhi NCR launch therefore forms part of wagamama’s broader India expansion strategy, with the company targeting 100 restaurants across the country over the next decade. The growth plan is expected to cover both major metropolitan markets and emerging cities, with location selection and restaurant economics identified as key considerations for the rollout.
