Bastian Hospitality has opened The Blondie House in Mumbai’s Versova, bringing its Blondie café and Janu food concept together in a multi-level hospitality format. The venue combines an all-day café and bakery with a dedicated Matcha Omakase experience, community spaces and a retail offering.
The new venue builds on the formats introduced through Blondie’s Bandra outlet and Janu, with The Blondie House designed to support multiple customer occasions across the day. The space moves from an all-day café and bakery to Matcha Omakase and shared areas for work and social activities.
The property includes a communal table, curated library, photobooth and in-house merchandise, along with spaces for guests to work, meet and spend time. It will also be used for workshops, tastings, readings and small-format events.
The menu combines selected offerings from Blondie and Janu with dishes developed specifically for The Blondie House. Breakfast options include Eggs Japo Style with Miso Butter and the OG Blondie Avo Toast. Other dishes include Pretzel with Miso Honey Butter, Yaki Udon, Pani Puri, Raj Kachori and Truffle Cheese Dosa. A frozen yogurt cart has also been added to the venue.
The bakery offering includes Pecan Miso Croissant Crown, Matcha Strawberry Tiffin, Sesame Tart and Pineapple and Pandan Religieuse, alongside Blondie’s cookies and freshly baked viennoiserie. The selection will also include seasonal bakes, homemade Greek yogurt, frozen yogurt and gelato.
The beverage programme includes speciality coffee, matcha drinks, filter coffee, milkshakes, mocktails and signature beverages such as Mont Blanc, Yuzu Daydream and Sakura. The Matcha Omakase expands on Blondie’s existing focus on matcha, with the format covering preparation techniques, flavour combinations and serving rituals.
The interiors combine Japanese hospitality influences with Scandinavian design, using concrete, wood, marble, handmade ceramics, natural materials and greenery. The venue also features Blondie’s branding, including a custom-made La Marzocco Strada coffee machine created exclusively for the space.
The Blondie House also has a retail component featuring products developed with women-led businesses. These include handmade ceramics, coffee blends sourced through women farmers, matcha, granola and coffee products. The curated library focuses on Korean and Japanese authors and will support community initiatives, including a planned book club.
Ranjit Bindra, Founder, Bastian Hospitality, said, “The Blondie House is an evolution of how we think about hospitality, creating spaces that are not defined by a single meal or occasion, but become part of people’s everyday lives. Bringing Blondie and Janu together allows us to bring two distinct points of view to the same table: Blondie’s focus on coffee, matcha, and community, and Janu’s bold, playful take on Indian food. With The Blondie House, we wanted to create a destination that feels relevant from morning to evening, where people can come to eat, discover, work, connect and simply spend time. It is our way of reimagining what a neighbourhood hospitality space can be.”
Natasha Hemani, Brand Director, Blondie added, “Blondie has always been about the details that make people want to come back, what they eat, what they drink, but also how they spend their time there. With The Blondie House, I wanted to take that feeling further. You can come in for a matcha, stay to work, pick up a book, take a photobooth strip or simply sit around with nowhere else to be. The House should feel beautiful, but also immediately yours.”
The Versova launch expands Bastian Hospitality’s portfolio into a format that combines café operations, bakery, Indian food, speciality beverages, experiential matcha service, community programming and retail within a single neighbourhood destination.
