UBD Launches Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend in Delhi, Plans Six-Market Expansion

Uppal Brewers & Distillers (UBD), the premium spirits venture of The Uppal Group, has launched Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend (MDTB), a premium Indian whisky, as it expands its portfolio and distribution footprint in the domestic spirits market.

The 750 ml whisky is priced at an MRP of Rs 1240 and has an ABV of 42.8 percent. The product has initially launched in Delhi, with UBD planning expansion into Odisha, Karnataka, Haryana, Goa, and Daman & Diu.

The launch adds a new product to UBD’s premium whisky portfolio and is positioned around consumers who purchase premium spirits as a personal reward for milestones and achievements. The brand name combines “Madhu”, meaning nectar, and “Van”, meaning forest.

Packaging is another focus of the new launch, with a front-facing tiger used as the key visual element across the bottle and canister. The design uses a cleaner format aimed at establishing a recognisable identity on retail shelves.

Kanhav Uppal, Co-Owner, Uppal Brewers & Distillers, said, “Our Vision has always been to build a premium Indian spirits company that is distinctive, relevant, and built for the long term. Through Madhvan Distiller's Tribute Blend, we celebrate a consumer who knows their strengths, makes measured decisions, and lets their achievements speak for themselves. That is the kind of company we are building, and that is the kind of whisky Madhvan whisky is.”

Ankur Sachdeva, CEO & Co-Founder, Uppal Brewers & Distillers, said, “India’s premium whisky consumer is becoming more discerning, seeking quality, character and relevance in what they choose. Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend is our response to this shift, a refined Indian whisky created for those who appreciate substance, individuality and a more considered premium experience. We began our journey with Soorahi in Delhi, and are now following the same path with MDTB. Delhi remains an important market for us, and this launch marks another step in our ambition to build a distinctive portfolio of premium Indian spirits.”

Smita Singh, Senior General Manager, Uppal Brewers & Distillers, said, “With Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend, we paid close attention to both what goes into the bottle and how the bottle presents itself. The blend has been crafted to deliver greater smoothness, depth and refinement, while the new bottle and canister bring an elevated expression to the brand. The front-facing tiger gives the packaging a distinctive visual signature, while the overall design has been deliberately kept clean and sophisticated. Together, the blend and the packaging are intended to create a cohesive premium experience.”

The launch comes as premiumisation continues to shape India’s spirits market. Overall spirits consumption grew at around 3 percent CAGR between 2019 and 2025, while the premium segment grew 22 percent during the same period. Premium-and-above brands now account for around 43 percent of India’s spirits market by volume.
