The Library Bar at The Leela Palace New Delhi has launched Literary Mixology, Volume II, the latest edition of its signature cocktail programme. Building on the first edition, the new menu continues to combine cocktail craftsmanship with storytelling, offering guests a collection inspired by renowned literary works and their authors.
The new menu draws inspiration from books including Beloved by Toni Morrison, Cosmos by Carl Sagan and Farewell, My Lovely, translating the themes of each work into cocktails through ingredient selection, flavour combinations and preparation techniques. The drinks feature ingredients such as pandan, deep-frozen tomatoes, parmesan cheese and house-made infusions.
The Library Bar team said, “One of the collection's most distinctive creations replaces conventional ice with deep-frozen tomatoes, thoughtfully repurposed from surplus produce at Le Cirque. Inspired by Bar Sathorn’s ‘Bangkok Brunch’, the drink evolves as the frozen tomatoes subtly influence its flavour profile over time, demonstrating how innovation, global exchange and sustainability can coexist seamlessly.”
The collection also takes inspiration from The Agony and the Ecstasy and Infinite Jest, with cocktails designed to incorporate presentation elements and tableside service. As part of the experience, the cocktail menu is presented as a bookmark placed inside leather-bound editions of the books that inspired the drinks.
Atul Tiwari, Hotel Manager, The Leela Palace New Delhi, said, "We have had the privilege of collaborating with more than 60 bars from across the world, and Literary Mixology, Volume II is the culmination of two years of research, experimentation, techniques, perspectives and ideas exchanged through these collaborations". He added, "We are excited to bring this new edition to our guests and invite them to experience Literary Mixology, Volume II, where every cocktail tells a story of its own."
The launch is part of The Library Bar's ongoing efforts to expand its beverage programme through concept-driven experiences. The venue has been recognised among India's 30 Best Bars for five consecutive years and continues to introduce new cocktail formats that combine hospitality, beverage innovation and curated guest experiences.
