The Glenwalk Sells Nearly 10 Lakh Bottles in September Across India

The Glenwalk, the blended Scotch whisky brand co-founded by actor Sanjay Dutt, sold nearly 10 lakh bottles across India in September, recording its highest monthly sales since its launch in June 2023. The brand entered the alcoholic beverages market in partnership with spirits company Cartel Bros.

According to the company, The Glenwalk sold 5 lakh bottles in its first year and has since expanded its distribution to 23 states. The September performance represents almost twice the volume sold during its entire first year of operations.

“The Glenwalk has always been about building a brand with a clear identity and a strong connection with consumers. Reaching this scale is an important milestone for us and reflects the hard work that has gone into building the business,” said Sanjay Dutt, co-founder of The Glenwalk.

Cartel Bros was co-founded by Mokksh Sani, Jitin Merani, Rohan Nihalani and Manish Sani. Mokksh Sani, who also founded alcohol retail chain Living Liquidz, attributed the brand’s performance to its pricing and Dutt’s association with the business in an August 2024 interview with CNBC-TV18.

The brand has also expanded its portfolio through smaller bottle formats. In December 2024, it introduced a 200 ml variant that sold 2,85,480 bottles across Maharashtra within 45 days of launch, according to a February 2025 report. The 750 ml bottle is priced between Rs 1,300 and Rs 1,955 across Indian markets, depending on state excise duties and local taxes, the company said.

Mokksh Sani, Co-Founder of Cartel Bros, said, “Our immediate focus is to deepen our presence across existing markets, enter newer geographies and build a strong and sustainable business around The Glenwalk over the long term,”

The company plans to expand into additional markets while strengthening distribution in states where the brand is already available. The September sales figure marks its latest milestone as it seeks to grow its footprint in India’s whisky market.
