Italian restaurant brand Toscano has opened a new outlet in Balewadi, further expanding its footprint in Pune and reinforcing its focus on experience-led dining within the premium casual segment. The launch reflects the brand’s ongoing strategy to grow in high-activity urban neighbourhoods where demand for international cuisine continues to rise.
Founded through the collaboration of Chef Jean Michel and Chef Goutham Balasubramanian, Toscano’s Balewadi restaurant marks the brand’s fourth location in Pune. The outlet follows the company’s established design language, combining traditional Italian influences with contemporary interiors. The space is designed to support both daytime and evening dining, aligning with changing consumer patterns across metropolitan markets.
The Balewadi menu continues Toscano’s emphasis on classic Italian preparation methods. The kitchen offers hand-rolled pastas and sourdough pizzas made using traditional fermentation processes. Alongside these core offerings, the restaurant serves established dishes such as Insalata di formaggio di capra e pere, Pizza Toscano, Salmone Grigliato prepared with Norwegian salmon, and Chicken di Toscano, a spinach and ricotta-based dish featured across the brand’s outlets. The dessert selection includes Tiramisu, Crème Brule, and Kahlua Mousse, which are standard offerings across the brand’s presence in six Indian cities.
The beverage program at the Balewadi outlet has been positioned as a key part of the dining experience. The bar features a collection of over 160 premium labels sourced from Italy, France, and other international regions, with 36 wines offered by the glass. In addition, the menu includes a range of cocktails and mocktails developed using fresh ingredients and established spirit bases, aimed at serving both business and social dining occasions.
Chef Rohit Tokhi, COO of Toscano, said, “Expansion for us isn't just about geography; it's about bringing Italy's soul to India's most dynamic food destinations. In Balewadi, we’ve found a community that mirrors our own passion for authentic, experiential dining.”
With the Balewadi launch, Toscano continues to build scale in Pune while maintaining a consistent operational and culinary framework. The expansion aligns with broader hospitality industry trends that prioritise authenticity, menu consistency, and location-driven growth in India’s evolving restaurant market.
