Restaurant India News: Mount Everest Breweries Expands to Goa, Targets 20 States by FY26

Mount Everest Breweries Ltd. (MEBL), part of the Associated Kedia Group, has entered the Goa market, marking its presence in the state as its 13th operational territory. The expansion is part of the company’s plan to scale operations to 20 states by the end of FY26, with a long-term target of achieving a 10 percent national market share by 2029.

The move reflects a broader industry focus on tourism-driven markets where hospitality consumption plays a key role in brand visibility and trial. Goa, as a high-footfall destination with a strong mix of domestic and international travellers, offers opportunities for beverage companies to engage with consumers across retail and hospitality channels.

As part of its entry strategy, MEBL is introducing a portfolio that includes its flagship STOK beer in mild and strong variants, along with spirits such as Hilfort whisky, Nicobar gin, and Lemount brandy. The portfolio is positioned to cater to demand across bars, restaurants, and retail outlets that serve a diverse consumer base.

Vedant Kedia, Whole Time Director from Mount Everest Breweries Ltd. said, “Goa has always been a destination where consumers are open to discovering new brands and experiences. This expansion allows us to introduce a wider portfolio of our products while connecting with travellers and younger consumers who influence drinking preferences across the country.”

The company has aligned its rollout with distribution partnerships, working with two distributors and onboarding more than 700 retailers across Goa. The products will be available across both retail outlets and the HoReCa segment, ensuring coverage across key consumption points within the state’s hospitality ecosystem.

Within its portfolio, STOK remains a key focus for the company, positioned around a lifestyle-driven consumption approach. The brand strategy is aligned with demand trends among Gen Z and millennial consumers, particularly in markets like Goa where social and experience-led consumption drives purchasing behaviour.

The expansion highlights MEBL’s ongoing efforts to build a wider national footprint while adapting its portfolio to suit evolving consumption patterns in tourism-led and urban hospitality markets.
